MingPao Daily newspaper:
Joe: "If Vivian returns to showbiz, it would simply be for charity."

After Vivian retired from the entertainment circle, there would often be rumors about her making a comeback. Two nights ago, her boyfriend said, "There would often be people asking when ah V (Vivian) would make a comeback, but even if she has a concert again, she would mostly do it to help cats/dogs or for charity." The reporter asked if Joe would mind that Vivian has a sexy performance. Joe said, "We've been together for many years and respect each other. My position is neutral. Actually, ah V really likes to sing, but at home, we can't sing in front of our son (cat) Pal, because Pal would use his paw to slap our mouths."

Regarding Joe's father Ngai Hong, Joe said, "My dad really respects ah V and my decision on not having children and wouldn't force us to have children." Joe has already decided to work together with King's Hotel in Wan Chai to invest in starting an American pool hall at the hotel. He hopes to increase the interest for pool.

Apple Daily newspaper:
Two nights ago (10/19), Carl Ng Ka Lung, Cathy Tsui Chi Kei, Yoyo Mung Ka Wai, and Joe Ngai Jan attended the autumn/winter fashion show for England's famous brand Paul Smith. Joe was asked by the reporter about the news of Vivian coming back next year to have a concert. Joe said, "There's always been people looking for ah V (Vivian) to make a comeback. This time she's coming out to sing just for fundraising for the cats and dogs. Ah V really likes to sing, but she seldom sings at home, because whenever she sings, her cat Pal would slap her mouth."

Vivian will return to showbiz and have a concert at the HK Coliseum next year

"Jade Girl Master" Vivian Chow will be returning to the music industry next year in October by having a concert at the HK Coliseum. (Picture on file)

The news about Vivian returning to showbiz has always been just a rumor, but this newspaper has received some reliable news that Vivian is planning to meet with her fans again next year in October at the HK Coliseum. It's known that the concert organizer has already submitted the paperwork to apply for the venue. So who is the concert organizer? Vivian chose Yiu Wing Entertainment Company Ltd. as the concert organizer, because she remembers her old friend. When she started working in showbiz many years ago, Cheung Yiu Wing (owner of Yiu Wing Entertainment) helped her a lot, and her previous concert was also organized by him, so for this reason, she'd rather work with someone familiar.

When reporters asked Cheung Yiu Wing about this, he just laughed loudly and didn't deny this news. He mysteriously said, "Haven't found (Vivian) yet! Don't know!" The reporter asked, "Is Vivian planning to have a concert next year in October at the HK Coliseum?" Cheung Yiu Wing said, "Yes!" The reporter asked, "Do you have confidence that the tickets will sell well?" Cheung Yiu Wing said, "It's a gamble! We'll have to see if she has confidence." But Cheung Yiu Wing has a lot of confidence, because right now, the trend is for singers from the '80s to return to showbiz!

Note: Regarding the news about Vivian having a concert next year in October, Vivian said, "Sorry, the news is not true and once again, have disappointed all of you. Up until today, I have not submitted paperwork to apply for having a concert and don't have plans on having a '20th anniversary concert' next year in October. At this moment, I only have interest in doing stage performances to benefit the public or for charity."

Vivian will see her fans next year in October

Next year is the 20th anniversary of Vivian joining the entertainment circle. It's absolutely the best time for her to make a comeback. (Picture on file)

Just when the new generation of singers still can't catch up, the idol and hard-working singers of the 1980s are starting to make a comeback. After Sandy Lam Yik Lin, Shirley Kwan Suk Yi, and the Grasshoppers have successfully returned to the stage, "Jade Girl Master" Vivian Chow has also decided to step on the stage of the HK Coliseum again. This newspaper has received reliable news stating that Vivian will be making a comeback next year in October, and this would also be her 20th anniversary in the music industry.

Vivian is 38 years old this year and still looks beautiful. There's currently no other person who can succeed the 'jade girl' position, so after Vivian retired in 1997, there's always been people who have tried to talk her into returning to showbiz, but each time she would refuse. Last year, the 3 largest concert organizers tried to convince her to have a concert by offering a high price. It's reported that one person offered HK$800,000 (US$102,696) for one show, but she wasn't interested. It wasn't until just recently that Vivian was moved by the sincerity of concert organizer Cheung Yiu Wing, a person who she really respects. She agreed to sing again.

In 1986, Vivian participated in an amateur DJ contest. From then on, she started her career as a DJ and then a singer. Her road to stardom went smoothly and was bright. Three of her Mandarin albums together received an excellent accomplishment of 8 platinum albums. But in 1997 when her career was at the highest point, she decided to retire in honor and glory. Next year will be the 20th anniversary of her entering showbiz. For Vivian and her fans, this day is absolutely worth remembering and celebrating.

Cheung Yiu Wing confirms the schedule
The reporter called Cheung Yiu Wing about this. At first, he was very careful about what he said and purposely said ambiguously, "Haven't found (Vivian)! Let's wait and see..." But when the reporter asked Cheung Yiu Wing if he had already submitted paperwork to the HK Coliseum to apply for the October time period next year, he said, "It's next year, next year in October! But we still don't know. We haven't consulted yet." The reporter then said that Vivian hasn't had a concert or released a new album in 8 years and asked Cheung Yiu Wing if he has confidence in her. He confidently said, "It's a gamble! Let's just see if she can do it. It's a trend nowadays (referring to singers of the '80s making a comeback)."

Joe took a naked photo of himself to get Vivian to laugh
(abridged version of actual article)

Joe thinks those who criticized his naked photo are just trying to make some noise.

Two nights ago, Joe Ngai Jan and Vincent Kuk Tak Chiu were the guests on the TV show "Justice For All."

Recently on the streets, there was a naked photo of Joe with his cat covering the important part of his body. There was a lot of response from people about this photo, and there was even a vet who said he was being cruel to his cat with this action. Regarding this, Joe thinks someone is trying to make some small things as headline news.

Reporters asked why he took such a photo. Joe said he took this photo during the SARS period. Everyone was feeling very distressed everyday. At that time he and Vivian were living a half world away from each other, so he took this photo to give her a surprise, and in the end, of course he was able to get his girlfriend to laugh!

Reporters asked if Joe's dad Ngai Hong was coming to HK this time to drink tea from his new daughter-in-law and to hold his grandchild. Joe was being funny, saying his dad already has a grandson, Pal (Joe and Vivian's cat), and both grandfather and grandson have already seen each other.

Vincent Kuk is a big fan of Ngai Hong's novels and said he really wants to meet Ngai Hong in person. Vincent is guessing that Joe, Vivian, and Ngai Hong would meet to have dinner together, so at that time, he would impolitely follow them.

Cheung Tat Ming (far right), Joe Ngai Jan (2nd from the right), and Vincent Kuk Tak Chiu (far left) all went on Carol "DoDo" Cheng Yu Ling's (2nd from the left) TV program.

Two nights ago, Joe Ngai Jan, Vincent Kuk Tak Chiu, and Cheung Tat Ming went to the TVB studio for a taping of the TV show "Justice For All." Joe's dad, Ngai Hong, recently returned to Hong Kong which led to reporters chasing after him for an interview. Joe said, "I personally don't like people following me, but my dad is very happy, saying that people still remember him."

Naked photo taken to get Vivian to laugh
Regarding Joe's naked photo being used on the cover of magazines, Joe said, "I took this photo during the SARS period. Vivian and I were living in different places (Vivian was in HK and Joe was in Canada), plus at that time we weren't happy because of SARS, so I took this photo to give her a surprise. She said she laughed a few times after seeing the photo."

Joe was asked if his father had requested that he give him a grandson. Joe said, "The grandfather and grandson have already seen each other and have even taken photos together." Actually, Joe was referring to his and Vivian's cat Pal as their son.

Two nights ago after having dinner with his good friend Choi Lan, Ngai Hong waited for a car to pick him up in Whampoa, and his future daughter-in-law Vivian was by his side being attentive and taking good care of him.

Two days ago (10/7), Ngai Hong and his wife arrived in HK from the USA. At night, they met with their son Joe Ngai Jan and future daughter-in-law Vivian Chow in Whampoa to have dinner. After dinner, Vivian went to the hotel to have a chat with Ngai Hong and his wife.

Being away for 13 years, wandering around right after getting off the airplane; 70 year old Ngai Hong has come back!
(abridged version of actual article)

6:52AM - Ngai Hong and his wife arrive at the HK airport.

7:27PM - That night (10/7), Choi Lan (left) had made dinner plans for Vivian (right) and Ngai Hong's family.

Ngai Hong became a famous author after writing the Wesley science fiction novels. In 1992, he moved to San Francisco in the USA. He finally came back to HK yesterday (10/7) after 13 years. Ngai Hong's son, Joe Ngai Jan, came to pick him up at the airport. Although Ngai Hong is 70 years old, he still acted like a child while wondering around Causeway Bay. At night, he met with Joe and his girlfriend Vivian Chow for dinner and was very happy.

When Joe was at the airport waiting for his father to arrive, the reporter asked Joe if his father was coming back to HK to attend a wedding banquet for him and his girlfriend Vivian. Joe didn't respond.

Joe: "Don't get so excited over nothing;" Joe posted his naked photo on the Internet, demonstrating the surprise of love
(abridged version of actual article)

Vivian and Joe have been in love for many years and are still able to maintain their loving relationship. Besides having an emotional interest for each other, there also needs to be true love and forgiveness.
(Picture on file)

Joe Ngai Jan posted his private naked photo on the Internet, using his bengal cat 'son' Pal to cover the important part of his body. He did this to share his love knowledge with the radio listeners of his radio program. He believed that in order for a relationship to last long, there has to be a fresh feeling maintained. This 'muscular male' web photo of Joe was used on the covers of two weekly tabloid magazines. One of those magazines even said he was fired by Commercial Radio and was no longer able to host the "Cool Valley" radio program anymore, so he posted that photo to protest. Yesterday, Joe said to the reporter, "I never thought everybody would be conservative in this way, and that they would get so excited over nothing. The photo was simply a form of art. If that photo was retaliation for getting fired, then that's even more absurd."

Joe said at that time, his radio program was coming to an end very soon, so he thought he would give the radio listeners a surprise, and also thought of using himself as a real demonstration, telling the listeners that in order to maintain a fresh feeling in a loving relationship, both parties need to give surprises to each other.

Picture was taken for Vivian
About 3 years ago when Joe was still in Canada and Vivian came back to HK, she really missed her 'son' Pal and would repeatedly tell Joe to take photos of her cat and e-mail them to her to see. Joe then thought of taking this naked photo of himself and sending the photo with the other cat photos to Vivian to see, and when she saw that photo of him, she screamed "Wa!"

Joe Ngai Jan and Jo Kuk Jo Lam were the hosts of the radio program 'Cool Valley.' Two nights ago on the last show of 'Cool Valley,' they invited their other halves Vivian Chow and 'War Cow' to be guests on the program. Nicola Cheung San Yuet, Emme Wong Yi Man, Leo Ku Kui Kei, and Sammy Sam Mei also came to the program. Afterwards, they all went to sing karaoke. Joe played until 5:30AM. His face was red and he was drunk when he left and needed Vivian to be the driver to go home.

Two nights ago (9/30) was the last show of the radio program 'Cool Valley,' which was hosted by Joe Ngai Jan and Jo Kuk Jo Lam. Joe invited his girlfriend Vivian to be a guest on the program, while Jo's boyfriend 'War Cow' also came to the program to show support. Nicola Cheung San Yuet, who was the host of this radio program for a certain period, came to the program. Guest hosts of the radio program Vincent Kuk Tak Chiu, Emme Wong Yi Man, Leo Ku Kui Kei, and Sammy Sam Mei were also special guests on the last show. They spent an unforgettable night on the program.

Leaving before others to go home
Commercial Radio 903's supervisor gave Joe and Jo Chinese soup dessert (tong sui) and also gave 2 gifts to them. Joe had a big smile on his face when he received an American pool cue stick, and he said he would save the cue stick until he opens his own pool hall and show off his pool playing skills. Jo received a leopard-skin chair and immediately sat on the chair. She sat on her personal chair during the radio program.

After the program ended at 2:00AM, everyone left in their own car. Joe and Vivian drove in separate cars to leave. Joe first went back to his home at San Francisco Towers in Happy Valley, but reporters didn't see Vivian. At 3:00AM, Joe came out and left the house in his car. He told reporters to go to California Red (karaoke place). So it seems Leo Ku Kui Kei isn't the only one who goes to California Red to have fun.

Having a red face when leaving
Emme Wong and Jo Kuk were the first to leave California Red at 3:45AM. Reporters kept on taking pictures of Emme's tattoo on her waist. Jo saw this and said, "Why are you guys like that? ..taking pictures of her butt." Joe played until 5:30AM and left with Vincent Kuk and a Commercial Radio colleague. Joe's face looked red, and it seems he drank a lot. He needed his girlfriend Vivian to drive him home.

Vivian goes to Japan to shoot an ad

Vivian made a special trip to Japan to shoot the new advertisement.

Last year, Vivian Chow was the Hong Kong and Taiwan spokesperson for Japan's Shiseido Revital product line. This year Shiseido invited Vivian again to shoot a new ad for their product, and she became the spokesperson for the entire Asia region. This year in May, Vivian went to the corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Japan to participate in shooting the new print ads.

Vivian and the crew of workers went to a clothing shop in Tokyo Aoyama to choose the dress for the ad. The preparation work before the shoot lasted for 4 hours, but Vivian wasn't tired at all and was very focused on her work, which made the Japanese crew feel deep admiration and praise for her. Vivian really liked how the makeup artist applied her eye makeup this time. As for the dress, it's the same purplish-blue color as Revital's symbol. Vivian looks glamorous in the dress. In order to catch Vivian's most beautiful look, the crew spent a lot of time adjusting the lighting. The photo shoot began after Vivian ate her most favorite una-jyu dish (eel served over steamed rice) for lunch. Although the scheduled shoot was very tight, Vivian's spirits were still up, which made people respect her professionalism.
