Famous writer Ngai Hong had immigrated to the USA
for more than 10 years. He will soon be returning to HK with his wife.
Two nights ago, his son Joe Ngai Jan and Viivan Chow went to see a musical.
Vivian said Ngai Hong's trip back is a very big event. She and Joe will
be completely focused on taking care of the two elders by providing them
housing and food, and want to leave a beautiful memory for them.
In the past, famous writer Ngai Hong had said that he was scared of the
Communist party, so he immigrated in 1992 to San Francisco in the USA.
He told everyone that he would never return to HK. But recently Ngai Hong
changed his mind and will soon be returning to HK with his wife.
Two nights ago (9/23), Vivian and her boyfriend Joe held hands to attend
the first show of "The Sound of Music." Joe will be ending his
job as a radio host for the "Cool Valley" radio program on Commercial
Radio at the end of this month. Vivian was asked if she would be taking
a vacation with Joe after the program ended. Vivian said, "No, because
Ngai Hong and his wife will be coming to HK, and we will be completely
focused on taking care of them. They haven't been to HK together for more
than 10 years. It's a really big event. We will
be taking care of their housing and food. We want to leave a beautiful
memory for them."
Vivian was asked if she would take this opportunity to register to get
married. She said, "No, the elders didn't even rush us. They're only
rushing us to have a baby, but we have a consensus on not having a baby.
If I accidentally get pregnant, then we'll have the baby." Actually,
Joe had mentioned on his radio program before that his mother would return
to HK from time to time for vacation, but each time Ngai Hong didn't go
with her. Later, Ngai Hong felt that he should do a little something for
his wife, so this time he decided to join her on returning to HK.
Protecting the elders to give back to society
Yesterday (9/24), Vivian went to Lam Tin to attend the event for "Caring
for the elderly, to achieve a thousand year old wish." She visited
an elderly lady who's more than 80 years old and prepared a fruit basket
as a gift. Vivian said she lived with her grandma ever since she was a
child and understands the importance of caring for the elderly. She said
she would work to paying close attention to the elderly and animals to
give back to society. When asked how her relationship is with her boyfriend's
parents, Vivian said, "It's ok. Ngai Hong immigrated to the USA for
many years, and Joe taught him how to go on the Internet." Reporters
mentioned that Joe had revealed on his radio program that his dad looks
at pornographic websites, and Vivian said, "I don't know, I wouldn't
have even guessed that he does."
Also, Vivian spoke about her favorite movie "The Sound of Music."
She said, "I fell in love with the movie when I was a child. I would
watch the movie once every summer break. The movie was shown for the first
time in 1965. I wasn't even born yet. Later, the movie was rerun, and
then I bought all the books and learned to sing all of the songs."
