Vivian returns a favor to her friend by showing off her good body shape at the Jade Solid Gold award show

Vivian presenting award to Andy Lau.

On the night of TVB's "Jade Solid Gold 10 Best Music Awards," Jade Girl master Vivian Chow was an award presenter. Her low-cut evening gown was unbeatable. Not only was the audience screaming "Wow" when they saw her, even Andy Lau couldn't stop looking. A lot of people were wondering how TVB was able to invite Jade Girl Vivian to come out and appear on the show. One reporter told another reporter that it's because of the 'Best New Singer' award.

After Jade Girl Vivian had retired, she maintained a friendly relationship with Gary Chan (Chan Chi Kwong) all along. Gary was one of the high level executives at Polygram Records many years ago. Now Gary is the general manager of Warner Music. Gary even voluntarily helps Vivian accept job offers. It's been heard that Gary helped her accept the recent skin care (Shiseido) ad. Since they're such good friends, if Gary asks Jade Girl Vivian to help him be an award presenter at the Jade Solid Gold award show, she would surely help him! With Gary working so hard to make the connection for TVB, of course he would get something good in return. Everyone, look at the 3 winners of the 'Best New Singer' award. There are 2 singers who are from Warner Music, with the gold 'Best New Singer' award going to Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and the bronze 'Best New Singer' award going to Endy Chow Kwok Yin. It's a sure win plan for 3 sides.

Oriental Daily newspaper:
Leo Ku's fans suggested Leo to go topless at his concert, and also to do dirty dancing with Vivian. After Leo heard this, he immediately said, "Wow, I have to ask Joe Ngai first, but if Vivian can do it, then she has to wear the dress she wore at the Jade Solid Gold awards show!" He said he doesn't want to force Vivian to go on stage. She can come to watch the show.

Joe refuses to talk about Vivian doing a breast enhancement ad for HK$30 million
(abridged version of actual article)

Sister Bak (right) made fun of Joe (left) for talking with a girl on his phone the whole evening.

Two nights ago, Joe Ngai attended the "17th Annual Miss World Chinese Model Pageant Night." Recently, it was rumored that someone invited Vivian Chow to do a breast enhancement advertisement for HK$30 million (US$3,851,091) . When reporters asked Joe on his viewpoint about this, he said, "No comment, no comment! I didn't know there would be reporters here tonight, so I'm not prepared!" Joe said it was Paul Tse Wai Jun (Bak Wan Kam's boyfriend) who invited him to the banquet. Sitting next to Joe was Bak Wan Kam, and she laughed saying Joe was constantly talking with a girl on his phone the whole evening.

Vivian's bodyshape is prominent. It's no wonder a breast enhancement company would look upon her with favor. (Picture on file)

More from JSG award show...
(abridged version of actual articles)

Sudden Weekly magazine #494 - January 14, 2005

The female singers at the Jade Solid Gold award show were constantly trying to show some skin, but in the end, they couldn't beat 37-year-old former Jade Girl Master Vivian Chow. She appeared on stage wearing a spaghetti strap evening gown that had an ordinary shape, but the dress was so tight that it revealed her body shape, and if she leaned forward just a little bit, all the female singers would have to quickly make way for her.

Next magazine #775 - January 12, 2005

When Vivian leaned forward just a tiny bit while presenting the award to Andy Lau, you could see her cleavage, which immediately got the attention of all the cameras.

Vivian seldom wore sexy clothing these past few years. She suddenly appeared revealing half of her chest, which almost busted her clothing. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to present an award to her good friends Hacken Lee and Leo Ku.

Vivian sighed saying she lacks the energy that Andy Lau has

Jade Girl Master Vivian has a good body shape. Unfortunately, there currently isn't anyone in the singing industry who could take her place.

Two nights ago, Vivian wore a low-cut evening gown to present the award for the 'Most Popular Male Singer.' Vivian said she didn't know the results beforehand. She said, "I was nervous just like the singers. A few days ago, many people called me to ask what the results would be. I didn't know the results until I was on stage. When I saw Andy Lau win the award, I was happy for him. If I had as much drive and energy as Andy several years ago, I wouldn't have retired from singing so soon!"

Since Vivian is Leo Ku's good friend and is the award presenter, did Leo ever think he would be the winner? Vivian said, "It's a miracle for Andy to win. It's worth it for Leo to lose to Andy. I don't need to comfort Leo. I'm also good friends with Hacken Lee and Andy Hui Chi On. They're all hard working singers and are popular." Does Vivian have any thoughts to sing again after attending the music award show? Vivian laughed saying, "The award ceremony is too intense. The atmosphere last night was very exciting. I have to go home and rest a few days. I haven't thought about singing again."

Vivian, the award presenter, whispered congratulatory words to Andy Lau when he won the award.

Vivian is overstressed and has to rest

Vivian still looks beautiful. Her sexy look brightened a person's eyes.

Vivian was invited to be an award presenter at the 'Jade Solid Gold Music Awards' show. She was presenting the award for the 'Most Popular Male Singer.' She frankly said that it was very exciting. Earlier, others had constantly asked her who would be the winner, but she couldn't give them an answer, because TVB never told her who the winner would be. She only found out when she was on stage and saw the award card.

Actually, would Vivian hope to present the award to her good friend Leo Ku? Vivian said, "No, everyone on stage are my good friends, such as Hacken Lee and Andy Hui Chi On. Andy Lau deserves to win the award this time. I'm very happy for him. In my eyes, he's a superman. He has a lot of energy. For all these years, it seems like he doesn't need to sleep, and he works hard everyday, so I really admire him. If I had as much energy as Andy back then, I probably would have received several awards."

But Vivian said she couldn't do it. She already felt so exhausted just being an award presenter. She was nervous and excited. She has to go home and rest for a few days!

After Vivian presented the awards, she would need to rest a few days because of all the excitement. (Picture from The Sun)

Wen Wei Po newspaper:
Vivian didn't know the results
Two nights ago, Vivian was dressed glamorously, wearing a sexy low-cut dress to the 'Jade Solid Gold Music Awards' show. She was an award presenter. At first, everyone thought that because of Vivian's appearance, she would definitely be presenting the award to her good friend Leo Ku or Hacken Lee. Finally, she announced that Andy Lau was the winner. Actually, she also didn't know Andy would be the winner until at that moment when she was presenting the award. Earlier, TVB didn't reveal to her who the winner would be for the most popular male singer. The results were tightly secured.

It's been a long time since Vivian has attended an awards ceremony. She was very nervous. Earlier, there were many people who knew that TVB had asked her to present the award for most popular male singer. Each one of them asked her who the winner would be. The fact is, she didn't know the results. She's very happy for Andy Lau winning. She admires Andy's energy to work for all these years. He deserves to win the award. She laughed saying, "If I had as much energy as Andy back then, I would have been able to work continuously."

At first, everyone thought that Vivian would be giving the award to Leo Ku. She laughed saying, "I'm friends with everyone, such as Leo and also Hacken Lee." The reporter asked, "After tonight's exciting atmosphere, would you think about coming back?" Vivian said, "No I won't. These activities are too exciting and intense. I have to go home and rest for a few days."

Leo Ku said, "When the winner was being announced on stage, I was very nervous. Once I knew Andy was the winner, I felt he deserved to win the award." The reporter asked, "When Vivian was on stage presenting the award, did you think you were going to be the winner?" Leo said, "This has nothing to do with it. I knew early on that she would be the award presenter, but I didn't ask her about the results." The reporter asked, "Are you disappointed?" Leo said, "The purpose of an award ceremony is to encourage the singers to push the music industry forward. I'm not disappointed."

The Sun newspaper (article 1) :
As for Vivian, who hasn't stepped on stage for a long time, she was an award presenter last night (at the 'Jade Solid Gold Music Awards') and wore a low-cut dress to the show. She revealed that she received many phone calls from singers earlier and said, "I was very nervous myself. I didn't know the results. Everyone called me to try to find out who would be the winner. I really didn't know. It's very mysterious." But Vivian admired Andy Lau for his energy. She said, "He's worked hard for so many years. If I had that much energy back then, I should have done a lot." The reporter asked, "How about coming back to sing?" Vivian said, "No, I would be very nervous, and it's too exciting! I have to rest a few days when I get back."

The Sun newspaper (article 2) :
After Vivian announced who the winner was, Hacken Lee was excited for Andy Lau and gave Andy a hug, while Leo Ku, Andy Hui Chi On, and Edmund Leung applauded to show their support.

MingPao Daily newspaper:
The reporter asked Leo Ku if he predicted that he would be accepting the award from the presenter Vivian, who is also his good friend. Leo said, "I knew that she was going to be the award presenter, but I wasn't nosy to ask her what are the results. I'm not thinking I would win the award just because the award presenter is my good friend!"

Ta Kung Pao newspaper:
Leo Ku let down his jade girl friend who is the award presenter
This year, Leo Ku is one of the male singers who is expected to have good results, plus the 'Male Singer' award presenter is his good friend Vivian. Leo frankly said that when the winner was being announced, he was very nervous.

Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show...
(abridged version of actual article)

Regarding the 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show' that took place 2 nights ago (1/7), Eric Tsang Chi Wai said, "We had originally planned on showing video messages from Faye Wong, Sammi Cheng, Vivian Chow, and other artists to ask people to donate money. However, their messages were cut from the show, because there wasn't enough time. But it's already very good that many artists came on stage to show their support!"

Cha Siu Yan and Jerry Lam Hiu Fung talked about the award ceremony for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards' and about how Vivian said 'Garbage Council' instead of 'Legislative Council.' They were wondering whether Vivian intentionally said 'Garbage Council' or not. Cha Siu Yan said it didn't really matter because Vivian was partially correct in her statement anyway...haha.

Instead of saying 'Legislative Council,' Vivian said 'Garbage Council'

Instead of saying 'Legislative Council,' Vivian said 'Garbage Council.' She looked embarrassed.

Yesterday (1/6), Vivian was elegantly dressed when she attended the award ceremony for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards.' Vivian has a new position of being the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Ambassador.' She was an award presenter at yesterday's event. Vivian is a non-smoker. She agrees that second-hand smoke is harmful to a person's health. For this reason, she's advocating to ban smoking in restaurants.

Vivian said that last year, she wrote a public letter in a local health magazine to Chief Executive Mr. Tung Chee Hwa. In the letter, she said she hoped there would be an open legislation to ban smoking in restaurants. When she was on stage, she said, "Last year, I wrote a public letter in a magazine to Mr. Tung, hoping there would be an open legislation to ban smoking in restaurants. I believe he saw my letter this year, because this proposal has already been given to the 'Garbage Council' for review. ('laap saap wui'... Vivian was supposed to say 'laap faat wui' - Legislative Council) After she finished her speech, Vivian looked embarrassed, but she tried her best to continue answering questions from the host. But the people at the event couldn't stop laughing, so Vivian laughed saying, "You're laughing so loudly!"

Afterwards, she admitted that her pronunciation was slightly incorrect, which made people misunderstand her. She laughed saying, "I hope everyone doesn't mind!" The reporter asked, "Were you embarrassed?" Vivian said, "No, actually I didn't even know I said this. Someone told me it sounded like I said a different word. I hope everyone doesn't mind."

Vivian spoke incorrectly making the entire room resound with laughter;
'Legislative Council' became the 'Garbage Council'

Vivian looks as glamorous as in the past. She attracted a large group of reporters to cover this event.

Vivian is used to being at big occassions. She's still able to handle things well even though she said something wrong.

Vivian is the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Ambassador.' Yesterday, she attended the award ceremony for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards.' When she was on stage, she incorrectly said the 'Legislative Council' was the 'Garbage Council,' which made everyone laugh. Vivian is used to being at big occassions and overlooked this mistake and wasn't confused, continuing with her speech. However, the laughter in the room was too loud, and she was embarrassed saying, "Everybody is laughing so loudly!"

Not extremely embarrassed
Regarding her mistake, Vivian later said it wasn't intentional, so she wasn't extremely embarrassed. She hopes everyone doesn't mind. She said she's always supported a ban on smoking. Last year, she wrote a public letter in a health magazine to the Chief Executive, hoping he would revise the anti-smoking law. She believes he has already seen her letter, and therefore the proposal has been passed to the Legislative Council. She feels in HK, there's very little noise on banning smoking. She hopes to educate the next generation not to smoke and at the same time encourage restaurants to ban smoking, because it wouldn't affect the business.

Supports a ban on smoking
Vivian said, even though she won't be attending today's 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show,' she has already donated money, and she hopes everyone would be united in banning smoking just like for fund raising for the disaster.

Vivian sends a letter asking the Chief Executive to ban smoking

Vivian is a non-smoker. She's strongly leading to have a ban on smoking in restaurants.

Yesterday, Vivian Chow, who is the ambassador for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company,' attended the awards ceremony for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards.' At the event, Vivian said that last year, she wrote a public letter in a health magazine to Chief Executive Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, suggesting that the legislature create a law to ban smoking in restaurants. However, instead of saying Legislative Council, Vivian said 'Garbage Council,' which made everyone laugh, and she had to say, "Everybody is laughing so loudly!"

Vivian said she's always been opposed to smokers smoking in public places, because nonsmokers also have the right to choose and to give them a safeguard from the smoke. Also, it's already been proven that the nicotine and carbon monoxide from second hand smoke contain carcinogens. But there's too little noise from the people who are against this. She feels Hong Kong is an international city, but HK is very behind in this matter. She really wants to rush and request the government to quickly create this law and to increase the educational awareness, so that nonsmokers can avoid having second hand smoke poison their health.

Vivian incorrectly said 'Garbage Council,' making the whole place burst with laughter

If Vivian took off her shawl, she would look even more attractive.

Vivian was invited to the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards' award ceremony. This event hopes to pass the message of having a 'Smoke Free Workplace' to all businesses. Vivian holds the position as the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Ambassador' and is one of the judges, but she mistakenly said the 'Legislative Council' was the 'Garbage Council,' which made the entire audience laugh.

At the event, Vivian revealed, "Last year (2003) in November, I wrote a public letter in a health magazine to Chief Executive Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, hoping HK creates a law to ban smoking in restaurants. Later, Mr. Tung probably saw this letter, as the 'Garbage Council' (Legislative Council) would revise this law immediately." After hearing the words 'Garbage Council,' the entire audience couldn't stop laughing. At first Vivian continued with her speech as though nothing had happened, but the sound of laughter grew louder and louder, and Vivian had to say awkwardly, "You're laughing so loudly."

Supports smoke-free restaurants
Vivian has always paid much attention to a healthy life. She strongly supports the HK legislation for smoke-free restaurants. She said the HK airport has a complete ban on smoking, and it's been very successful. If all restaurants in HK participated in the 'smoke-free movement,' then everyone would be competing in a fair environment to do business, and there wouldn't be unfair situations appearing. She also said that last year at the HK Stadium during James Wong's memorial, Professor Yau proposed a complete ban on smoking, and hundreds of people responded at that time. She thinks that was the most appropriate time to carry out the non-smoking movement.

When she was talking about the mistake she made while she was speaking on stage, saying the 'Legislative Council' was the 'Garbage Council,' she explained, "Probably the pronunciation sounded similar to another word. I don't mind that people were laughing, and I hope everyone doesn't mind." As for the 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show' today at the HK Stadium, Vivian said she wouldn't be attending, but she will be recording a video message to ask people to donate money. She said, "I did what the public did. I have donated money. Actually helping the disaster victims isn't only focused at the 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising' event. If you have money, then donate money. If you have strength, then show your strength. The entire southern Asia needs everyone's support."

Vivian agrees with the idea to ban smoking in restaurants

Vivian is working to promote the anti-smoking campaign.

Yesterday, Vivian attended the award ceremony for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards,' and she is the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Ambassador.' Last year, she wrote a public letter in a health magazine to Chief Executive Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, suggesting that the Legislative Council create a law to ban smoking in restaurants. When she was on stage, she unexpectedly said incorrectly that the Legislative Council was the 'Garbage Council.' This made everyone at the event laugh loudly! And she didn't even know her pronunciation was incorrect until afterwards when a staff member told her about it and then she understood what happened. She hopes everyone doesn't mind.

Vivian is in the healthy group. She's always been opposed to smokers smoking inside public places. Nonsmokers have the right to choose and to give them a safeguard from smoke. Unfortunately, there's very little noise from the people who are against this. She feels Hong Kong is an international city, but HK is very behind in this matter. She really wants to rush and request the government to quickly create this law and to increase the educational awareness, so that nonsmokers won't have to be poisoned anymore by second hand smoke.

Vivian won't be attending today's 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show,' however she has already donated money and has recorded a video message to ask people to donate money. During this new year, she hopes everyone is healthy and happy.

Vivian is a non-smoker. She's strongly leading to have a ban on smoking in restaurants.

Yesterday, and awards ceremony was held for the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards.' Vivian was an award presenter. She said, "I think Mr. Tung saw my letter this year, because my letter proposed to have a 'complete ban on smoking in restaurants' and to submit this proposal to the 'Garbage Council' to legislate." After she said this, everyone was laughing, but Vivian didn't know she spoke incorrectly and was embarrassed saying, "You're laughing so loudly!"

Later, she found out she had said 'Garbage Council' (laap saap wui) instead of 'Legislative Council' (laap faat wui). She said, "I didn't even know I said this. 'Legislative Council' was called the 'Garbage Council;' Vivian supports a ban on smoking in restaurants

Yesterday (1/6), Vivian attended the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards' award ceremony and was appointed as the 'Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Ambassador.' When she was on stage speaking, she mistakenly said 'Garbage Council' (laap saap wui) for 'Legislative Council' (laap faat wui) and the entire room immediately resounded with laughter.

Later when reporters asked Vivian if she was embarrassed, she said, "At first I didn't hear that I spoke incorrectly. Afterwards someone told me and then I knew, but I didn't intentionally say this. I hope everyone doesn't mind. I also wasn't very embarrassed!"

Vivian said she always hoped the government would make a law to ban smoking in restaurants. Last year (2003) in November, Vivian wrote a public letter in a health magazine to Chief Executive Mr. Tung to express her wishes.

However, Vivian won't be attending the 'Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show' today. She said, "I will be recording a video message in advance to ask people to donate money. I hope everyone who has money can donate money, and those who have strength can show your strength. Hong Kong people are very united."

Vivian didn't feel embarrassed about her unintentional pronunciation mistake.
