The fan club already disbanded, but still held a party;
Joe Ngai tells the Vivian fans to be careful

Vivian's fax to Commercial Radio:
Miss Cha Siu Yan,
How are you?
Hope you could help clear up some rumors on your show.
1) Vivian Chow International Fan Club is already dismissed last year, and won't hold any more activities.
2) No one calling himself Mr. Hui ever contacted me about the fan club meeting
3) The October meeting is a hoax. Hope everyone will be careful, and don't lose money on it.
Wish the rating of your show will keep rising...
Vivian Chow; 8/19/99

Mr. Hui, who claims to be the spokesman of the Vivian Chow International Fan Club, told reporters that the fan club will hold a fan club meeting in October and will charge HK$70 each. Yet, after Vivian and Joe read the news, they think someone probably used their name to cheat people's money.

Joe seems to act seriously about the incident. He called the entertainment show on the radio immediately, and hoped the host would help clear it up. He also sent in a fax which was written by Vivian herself. The content said the fan club already disbanded last year, and she didn't receive any call from a guy called Mr. Hui. She asked her fans to be careful and not to lose money on this matter.

Mr. Hui said Vivian knows him
In a phone interview, Mr. Hui, who Vivian said people should be aware of, said he knows Vivian. "Vivian really knows me, maybe she forgot my name is Hui. Or she's just too busy." Mr. Hui said he worked at TVB before, but when he was asked what's his full name, he said it's not appropriate to say. He said he will notify the media about the party, and will arrange Vivian to have an interview. Then he hung up in a hurry. Note: Don't believe Mr. Hui!

Vivian Chow's October Fan Club Meeting is a hoax

Viv reminds the fans not to be cheated ...
Yesterday there was a report about Vivian holding a fan club meeting in October, and 150 people already signed up. It's arranged by a guy who called himself Mr. Hui. Vivian faxed a note to Commercial Radio, saying that there's no such meeting, and reminds the fans not to lose money on that. Vivian's fax stated:
1) Vivian Chow International Fan Club is already dismissed last year, and won't hold any more activities.
2) No one calling himself Mr. Hui ever contacted me about the fan club meeting
3) The October meeting is a hoax. Hope everyone will be careful, and don't lose money on it.

Vivian meets fans in October
Note: Just checked w/ a fan who called the former fan club chairman and she said this news is FAKE! ... so don't believe this article.
Vivian is already retired from the show business, but there is a rumor that during October she will come out again and get together with the fans to settle their worried minds. So far, there are already 150 people registered, but the exact date is not sure yet. The meeting will take place at a private club and a buffet will be served.

Since '97, Vivian said she wouldn't release anymore new albums but she still attended some shows, and she was in 1/2 retired condition to leave the entertainment business. At the same time the international fan club was dismissed. During the peak time, the fan club had 1000 people and there were 800 people when the fan club dismissed. The last meeting was in August '96, taking place in Kowloon Bay Conference Building. Note: This news is clearly wrong. Viv had a meeting w/ fans in Jan. '97, Dec. '97, and Nov. '98 ... geez, those reporters need to spend more time on their research.

According to information, Vivian is very nice and cares about her fans; although she is already retired and living in a relaxed life style, but she did not forget about the fans. Once in a while she will get in touch with the fans; during the past 2 years, under the pressure of fans, Vivian decided to meet the fans in October. When the news first came out, the fans had a really good response and 150 people already registered. Note: This news is not true!!

Vivian saving fans' money
Fan Club Meeting only costs HK$70

Note: Just checked w/ a fan who called the former fan club chairman and she said this news is FAKE! ... so don't believe this article either.
Why is Vivian willing to meet the fans? It's all requested by her long time die-hard fans. They haven't met Vivian for 3 years, and they all wish to meet her and hear her singing and find out stuff about her recent days. Note: Wrong info by the reporter. Fan club members met her in November '98 during her so-called "FINAL" fan club meeting. Also, during her Dec. '97 and Nov. '98 meetings, Vivian did not sing. She only talked w/ the fans.

After arranging with Vivian, the meeting will be held on one of the Sundays in October. The exact time and place has not been set yet, but this could be the last fan club meeting for Vivian before she gets married.

According to Mr. Hui, the spokesman for the Vivian Chow International Fan Club, he said, "The fan club already disbanded years ago as Vivian retired from the business, but there are many fans who still miss her. So I talked with Vivian about holding a party to meet the fans, and she agreed. There will be about 150 die-hard fans joining the party." (Would Vivian announce that she is getting married?) "I don't know, I never heard her talk about it." (Would Joe be there?) "I don't know too, but Vivian already said not to make the fans spend too much money, so right now we plan to charge HK$70 each. We are still looking for the place, but most likely it would be a private club house." Note: This news is only a RUMOR ... you know how reporters LOVE to make up news in order to get the artist to come out from hiding to clarify news that they wrote..

Joe Ngai doing business online

Joe Ngai
Yesterday afternoon when the reporter was taking a break, he met Joe. Sure, the reporter asked him about the status of the relationship between him and "Jade Girl Master" Vivian. Joe suddenly looked really surprised and had his mouth wide open. And so he refused to answer any questions related to Vivian. However, he answered stuff about his recent days and work. He said, "Right now I mainly stay in Canada because my parents are getting older, so I need to stay with them." He also mentioned that he plans to do business on the Internet.
Note: There was no mention in the article as to whether or not Vivian would be going w/ Joe to Canada and what kind of Internet business Joe plans on doing....hmm....but if Joe were to sell Viv's pictures, he could probably make big $$$....hehehe..

Vivian at Central
Vivian looking at cosmetics. Vivian's fan asking for a signature. Joe Ngai taking Vivian back home.

Last week Vivian was seen at Central, and she was walking back and forth at the counter that sells cosmetics; at the end she bought a large quantity of makeup products. Although Vivian is wearing sunglasses, she still got recognized by many people; one male fan also asked for her signature! It seems like Vivian still has lots of fans! Finally, Joe (her bf) called a taxi and went home with Vivian.
